Utah Grizzlies News Release

Anchorage, Alaska - The Utah Grizzlies will look to even up their best-of-seven series tonight with the Alaska Aces as they continue the ECHL's West Division Semi-Finals from Sullivan Arena. Face-off is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. Playoff hockey returns to the E-Center Thursday, Friday and Sunday*** as the Grizzlies host their first playoff games since 2002. All Utah home games will start at 7:05 p.m.

Last night, the Grizzlies dropped game one, 4-1, to the Aces, after skating to a scoreless tie through one period. Alaska led 2-0 after two periods and added two insurance goals, including an empty-netter in the final period.

Alaska did not score a 5 on 5 goal in the game, but did light the lamp with two 4 on 4 goals and a 5 on 4 power-play tally, to go along with their late empty-netter.

Utah killed nine of 10 shorthanded situations, but negated two of their first three power-plays with early penalties. Utah's only goal came on a 5 on 3 Ryan Kinasewich power-play goal, for his 40th of the year in the third period.

Tonight, Utah will once again attempt to get their first playoff win since April 17, 2002 when they defeated Houston 2-1 at the E-Center.
