
Everblades' Osaer Named Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Phil Osaer of the Florida Everblades is the Rbk
Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Apr. 2-8.
The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound netminder was 2-0-0 with a shutout, a
goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .965 to help Florida
reach 100 points for the second time in team history with a 48-20-4 record.
The 26-year-old began the week stopping all 28 shots in a 3-0 win over
Gwinnett, which finished atop the American Conference and led the ECHL with
4.22 goals-per game, and he closed out the regular season making 27 saves
in a 3-2 win at Pensacola on Apr. 8.
Selected in the seventh round (203rd overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the
1999 NHL Entry Draft and under contract to the Florida Panthers of the NHL,
Osaer has won his last six starts while posting a shutout, a goals-against
average of 1.33 and a save percentage of .951. He is 23-10-02 with three
shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.95 and a save percentage of .908 in
38 games for the Everblades and also played one game in the American Hockey
League with the Rochester Americans, stopping 33 of 36 shots.
In his rookie season in 2001-02, Osaer was 16-11-2 with two shutouts, a
goals-against average of 2.43 and a save percentage of .912 in 29 games
with Peoria of the ECHL. He has also played in the ECHL with Louisiana,
Texas and Trenton and he is 51-51-8 with six shutouts, a goals-against
average of 2.85 and a save percentage of .913 in 115 career regular season
games. He has played in the American Hockey League with Hartford,
Rochester, San Antonio and Worcester and he is 18-21-5 with four shutouts,
a goals-against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .900 in 49 career
regular season games.
The native of Livonia, Mich. played three seasons for Ferris State
University from 1998-2001 and he was 24-22-6 with a goals-against average
of 2.18 in 59 career games.

pct.) and Drew MacIntyre, Toledo (3-0-0, 1.62 GAA, .934 save pct.).
