Orlando, FL - It will be a top-of-the-table matchup as the Florida Everblades will wrap up a three-game South Division road trip Saturday at North Charleston Coliseum against the team with whom they are tied for first place in the South: the South Carolina Stingrays.
The Blades barged their way back into a first-place tie thanks to Saturday's 3-0 win at Gwinnett while the Stingrays were idle.
Former Stingray Matthew Pistilli leads the way offensively for the Blades with 11 goals and 11 assists, good for tops in the ECHL in goals and second in points.
It has been a positive weekend for player development for the Everblades, as well: three players-Jordan Henry, Mike Cornell and Carl Nielsen-were all called up to the AHL over the past 48 hours, bringing Florida's total to eight players sent to the AHL in just five weeks.
On the other side, South Carolina is the last team in the league without a regulation loss at 9-0-1-1 through 11 contests.
Saturday will feature a matchup of the South Division's top two goaltenders with Florida's Kristers Gudlevskis and South Carolina's Jeff Jakaitis both in the ECHL's top ten in GAA (2.01 and 1.87, respectively).
Saturday's first place showdown will be broadcast locally on 98.1 FM The Island and worldwide online on America ONE, the official broadband and mobile broadcaster of the ECHL, at www.americaonesports.com. Pregame coverage will get under way at 6:50pm.
