Adirondack Thunder News Release

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Adirondack Thunder are back in action in Norfolk tonight, looking to close out the back end of a back-to-back series with the Admirals. The Thunder got contributions from five different goal scorers last evening as they skated to a 5-3 win over their divisional foes. Tonight's game is also the final contest for the Thunder before their holiday break, which spans until the team returns to the Civic Center on December 26 to take on Manchester.

TOP GUNN: Gunnar Hughes maintained his hot hand with the opening goal in last night's game. Hughes found the back of the net for the second straight game and the fourth time in the month of November after he scored just once in October and November. The St. Lawrence graduate now has five points over his past six games to go along with a +4 rating.

HOW, NOW, JOE, FAU: Defenseman Joe Faust collected two assists last evening for the first time in his professional career. Faust's two helpers, including a beautiful three line pass to Mitchell Heard for the Thunder's third goal, gives him six on the season and points in back-to-back nights for the first time with the Thunder.

BIG BEN: Ben Johnson scored for the first time this season with his second period tally in last night's win. Johnson later collected an assist on Michael Kirkpatrick's game winning goal in the third period and now has three points (1-2-3) in five games this season.

THE WOLFE OF GLEN STREET: Greg Wolfe returned to the lineup in a big way with a crucial breakaway goal to ice last night's win. Wolfe skated directly out of the penalty box and took a breakaway feed in the neutral zone, then went backhand-to-forehand for his fourth tally of the season. Wolfe played in his first ECHL game since 11/25, after he spent the past three weeks with Albany in the AHL.

MACARTHUR'S COURT: The Adirondack Thunder signed forward and Clifton Park native Peter MacArthur yesterday. MacArthur has appeared in nearly 400 professional games in his 10-season professional career. The 31-year old has 52 points (18-34-52) in 41 career ECHL games with the Fresno Falcons and Las Vegas Wranglers. MacArthur is expected to join the Thunder tonight in Norfolk.
