THE MATCHUP

The South Carolina Stingrays visit the Atlanta Gladiators for the second straight time. On Thursday, the two teams met at the Infinite Energy Arena with the Gladiators earning a 3-2 overtime victory on a goal by Tyler Murovich. The Gladiators lead the ECHL with eight overtime wins this season while South Carolina is just 1-6 in overtime. The Stingrays did pickup a point in the loss, giving them points in nine straight games. The two teams finish the season series Tuesday night in North Charleston.

RAYS LOOK TO CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT

The South Carolina Stingrays look to clinch a playoff spot for the 22nd time in the club's 23 year history. If South Carolina wins OR South Carolina loses in overtime/shootout OR Elmira loses, the Stingrays will clinch a playoff spot.

CAMERON HITS 20

In Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to Atlanta, forward Brett Cameron hit a milestone in his rookie season. His goal in the second period was his 20th of the season. Cameron is second on the Stingrays with 48 points, and is 8th among rookie skaters in the ECHL in points.

HERBERT RETURNS TO SOUTH CAROLINA

On Thursday, the Stingrays announced forward Caleb Herbert had been reassigned to the team. Herbert, a fifth round selection of the Capitals in the 2010 NHL Draft, returns to South Carolina for the second time this season. During his successful stint with the club in February, he scored six points (five goals, one assist) in eight games, also notching 12 penalty minutes and a rating of plus-five. Herbert appeared in 42 games with the Stingrays last season, notching 28 points (19 goals, nine assists). He also helped the Stingrays to the Kelly Cup Finals, scoring 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 27 playoff games. He will wear #23.

PENALTY KILLED

The Stingrays boast the league's best penalty kill at 87.5%. Opponents have scored only 32 power play goals in 256 tries.

PLUS/MINUS KINGS

South Carolina Stingrays defensemen Joey Leach and Bobby Shea top the plus/minus charts in the league. Leach sits at a plus-34, only one behind Manchester's Maxim Kitsyn for the ECHL lead. Shea is fifth at a plus-27. In terms of defense leaders, Leach is first in the league while Shea is third.

LADIES NIGHT

Tuesday, March 29 against the Atlanta Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. will the South Carolina Stingrays' last Ladies Night of the season! All women 18 and over gain free admission by showing their ID at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office. Guys are also able to buy 2-for-1 tickets and bring a friend! Throughout the night, there will also be $2 hot dogs and a Happy Hour special with $2 beers until 8:00 p.m.
