Elmira Eyes Fifth Straight Week with a Sweep Tonight against Brampton

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, are on the hunt for a sweep against the Brampton Beast in the weekend finale tonight after blowing past their neighbors to the north 5-2 last night. The Jackals are 6-1-0 against Brampton this season and have won five straight against the Beast.

MAGNIFYING THE MATCHUP

Tonight the Jackals are on the hunt for a sweep against the Brampton Beast in the second of their two-game weekend set. Elmira has swept an opponent in each of the last four weeks, dating back to Feb. 27-28 at Wheeling. Last night the Jackals clawed back from one-goal deficits in each of the first two periods before blowing past the Beast with four unanswered goals. Jacob MacDonald scored his 15th goal of the season, which sets a new Jackals single-season record for goals scored by a defenseman. Guy LeBoeuf recorded the game-winning goal with his first professional goal in his 132nd pro game. Ian Young, Colin Jacobs and Matt Garbowsky also scored for the Jackals as Shane Owen stopped 26 shots faced to improve his record to 7-0-0 in seven starts with Elmira. Last night's win was the Jackals' third straight victory and their ninth win in the last 11 games. Elmira also recorded its fifth consecutive win over Brampton and improved its record this season to 6-1-0 against the Beast. The Jackals are 11-2-0 all-time against their neighbors to the north.
