Matchup:

The Solar Bears look to get back to their winning ways on home ice tonight as they welcome the South Carolina Stingrays to the Amway Center for the first time this season. The Solar Bears got out to a strong start against the Eagles, as D Blake Kessel knocked home a power play goal 4:59 into the contest to put the Solar Bears up 1-0. The lead held until late in the second period, when Colorado scored twice in just under two minutes to a take a 2-1 lead going into the third and added a third tally early in the final frame for the 3-1 victory. The Stringrays have not taken the ice since last Saturday when they defeated the Kalamazoo Wings 3-2 in a shootout. After taking a 2-1 lead with back-to-back third period goals, the Stingrays saw their lead evaporate on a Wings goal with less than half of the third period remaining to force overtime and the eventual shootout. Each of the first two South Carolina shooters scored and G Jeff Jakaitis stopped all five shots to earn the win.
