
Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings at Gwinnett Gladiators

Continuing their four-game road swing, the Kalamazoo Wings will head to The Arena at Gwinnett Center to battle the Gwinnett Gladiators. Tonight will be the first of three meetings between the teams this season and the only appearance for the K-Wings at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.
Kalamazoo started the road trip last night with an impressive 5-1 victory against the Greenville Road Warriors. The victory extends the K-Wings unbeaten streak to three games (2-0-0-1). Defenseman Mike Matczak posted a game-high three points (3 assists).
Winless in their last two games (0-1-0-1), the Gladiators will wrap up a five-game home stand this evening. So far Gwinnett has gone 1-2-0-1 during the stretch. Overall, the Gladiators have a record of 3-7-0-1 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Martin the Magnificent
Last Friday, Joel Martin earned his second shutout of the season, his 18th overall and his 13th in a K-Wings uniform. The 13 shutouts with Kalamazoo ties Martin with Manny Fernandez (1994-98) for the organizations all-time lead.
Heating Up
Three members of the K-Wings are on a scoring tear. Kattelus is on a four-game assist and point streak, while Yanni Gourde and Mike Matczak are both riding a three-game point streak.
Boxed In
The K-Wings posted a season-high 48 minutes in penalties last night. Kalamazoo posted 22 of those minutes in the final 36 seconds of the contest.
Good Things Come in Threes
Kalamazoo enters tonight looking to extend a streak. The K-Wings are unbeaten in regulation in their last three games (2-0-0-1).
