Colorado Eagles News Release
ESTERO, FL - The Colorado Eagles (13-4-3-0) swamped the Florida Everblades (13-6-1-1), 4-1, at Germain Arena on Friday evening. Florida's forward and league leader in points, Matthew Pistilli was no match for Eagles goaltender Marc Cheverie as he stopped 33 out of 34 Everblade shots.
Veteran forward Trent Daavettila gave Colorado an early 1-0 lead just 6:50 into the first frame. The Eagles pumped their lead to 2-0 as forward Kyle Ostrow bested Florida netminder and former Eagle, Trevor Cann, on a pass from forward Jonathan Parker.
Less than five minutes into the final frame Eagles defenseman Daniel Johnston capitalized on a power play to give Colorado the 3-0 advantage. Florida forward John Henrion was able to sneak one goal past Cheverie to put the Everblades on the board 3-1. Eagles forward Kevin Ulanski, back off of a two-game hiatus, scored on an empty net to finalize Colorado's 4-1 win.
The Eagles will match-up with the Florida Everblades on Saturday, December 7 and then head back to Orlando to face off with the Solar Bears again on Sunday, December 8.
