I-35 Series: The San Antonio Missions and Round Rock Express are battling it out for the American Southern Division title as well as the coveted Traffic Cone trophy. Through 13 games against each other the Express lead the season series 8-5 and need just one more win to clinch the first edition of the I-35 Series.

Bullish Pen: The Missions bullpen has been outstanding over the last five games. In that stretch San Antonio has yielded just two runs, one earned, on 12 hits in 21.2 innings of work. They have not allowed a run in three straight games. On the season San Antonio's bullpen has posted a Triple-A best 3.39 ERA.

Keep Them Grounded: Thomas Jankins, tonight's starter for the Missions, has been one of the best pitchers in all of Triple-A baseball at inducing ground balls. His ground ball rate of 2.08 is the second highest in Triple-A behind only Fresno's Scott Copeland who has a ground ball rate of 2.44. San Antonio's Zack Brown is third in Triple-A at 1.92.

Bounce Back Team: The Missions suffered just their third shutout loss of the season last night, which is tied with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the second fewest in Triple-A behind only Pawtucket's two. Two of the three shutouts have come at the hands of the Round Rock Express. The Missions have followed up both of their previous shutout losses with victories in their next game.

K Records: The Missions pitching staff has tallied 1,210 strikeouts this season to set a new franchise single-season record. The previous record was 1,186 in 2017. The 1,210 strikeouts this season are the second most in the PCL behind only Oklahoma City's 1,228. After striking out 13 times last night the Missions have now been fanned 1,194 times to set a new single-season franchise record. The previous record was 1,189 set in 1972. The 1,194 strikeouts are tied with Oklahoma City for the second most in the PCL behind only Sacramento, which has gone down on strikes 1,212 times.
