Winning May Feel Good: San Antonio leads all of Triple-A baseball with 19 wins in the month of May. The Missions are tied with Single-A Quad Cities and Single-A Greensboro for the third most wins in May behind only Single-A Delmarva's 22 wins and Single-A Great Lakes' 20. The Missions are looking for their sixth 20-win month since 2005 and first since May 2017. Their record for wins in a month since 2005 is 21, which they compiled in June 2011.

Monthly Records: Along with the aforementioned wins, San Antonio is close to setting a number of other franchise records for a single month since 2005 when MLBAM began compiling statistics.

As far as individual monthly records go, Tyler Saladino and Cory Spangenberg each have 10 doubles in May. A Missions player has hit 11 doubles in a month eight times since 2005 including Spangenberg's 11 in July 2014. Saladino's 26 RBI are tied for fourth in a month since 2005. Ty France (May 2018) and Jaff Decker (April 2011) each collected 27 while Kyle Blanks drove in 33 in August 2008. Spangenberg has also swiped eight bases. A Missions player has stolen at least 10 bases in a month 11 times since 2005 with the record being Rico Noel's 17 in May 2013.

Strive for Seven: The Missions completed a six-game sweep of the Memphis Redbirds last night to tie their longest winning streak of the season. It is the third six-game winning streak of the season for the Missions. San Antonio also won six games in a row from April 21 at Nashville (game two) - April 27 against Oklahoma City and May 14 at New Orleans - May 20 against Memphis. The last time the Missions won seven games in a row came during their 11-game winning streak from May 1-12, 2018.

No Bombs, No Problem: San Antonio has gone homerless in each of its last two games. It is just the second time this season the Missions have had back-to-back games without a home run. They also did so on May 7-8. On the season San Antonio is 7-8 when they fail to hit a home run. San Antonio's pitching staff has not yielded a big fly in three straight games to match a season-long stretch. They also did not allow a home run in three consecutive ball games from April 25-27. The Missions are 16-2 when not allowing a home run.

Orfy Going Off: Nate Orf went on a tear during the team's 10-game road trip. He hit .469 (15-for-32) with 6 runs, 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and boasted a .565 on-base percentage. He is in the midst of a modest four-game hitting streak, during which he is batting .692 (9-for-13). It is his longest such streak of the season. In May he is batting .354, which is good for 10th in the Pacific Coast League.

Hold it Right There: Deolis Guerra and Jacob Barnes each tallied a hold in last night's 3-2 win over the Memphis Redbirds. The Missions lead all of Minor League Baseball with 30 holds on the season. Guerra paces MiLB with eight holds and Donnie Hart ranks second in the PCL and tied for third in MiLB with six.

Twin Killings: Tonight's starter for the Flying Chanclas, Zack Brown has lived up to his billing as a ground ball pitcher this season. He has induced 13 ground ball double plays, which are second in the PCL to only El Paso's Jerry Keel (14). San Antonio and El Paso have each induced 48 ground ball double plays, which are the most in the PCL. Brown's GO/AO is 1.81, which is tied for 2nd in the PCL.
