NEWS & NOTES:
Last Game: The Wheat Kings picked up an exciting 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings Friday night. It was an evening of firsts. Caleb Hadland not only picked up his 1st WHL assist but also picked up his 1st WHL goal which turned out to be the game winner. Then Matt Henry put a bow on the game with his 1st career goal with an empty net tally. The win would be the first victory at home for the Wheat Kings since January 10th over the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Feb 11th VS Calgary Hitmen : The Wheat Kings and Hitmen face off for the final time this season. In the last meeting the Wheat Kings picked up a 4-2 win inside the Saddledome. In that game Nolan Flamand led the way with a 3 point night earning 2nd star and Quinn Mantei would score the game winner after London Hoilett was able to score a pair of goals to tie it at two in the third. Carson Bjarnason stood tall, stopping 34 of 36 shots in the game. The Wheat Kings only loss to the Hitmen came inside Westoba Place back on December 11th where the Hitmen dominated on a Sunday afternoon winning 5-2. Zac Funk was a factor that afternoon picking up a point on every goal the Hitmen scored. Funk was later dealt to the Prince George Cougars at the WHL Trade Deadline.
