HEAD TO HEAD - This is the second of nine meetings between the Thunder and the Rush. All-time, Wichita is 15-28-5 against Rapid City and 9-14-2 on the road.
WELCOME BACK - Tim Boron returns to the Black Hills for the first time this season against his former team. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native won 30 games a year ago and was a Most Outstanding Goalie nominee as a member of the Rush. He is 0-1-0-0 this season against Rapid City, having lost last Friday night 3-0.
TURN IT AROUND - Wichita is looking to turn their luck around against Rapid City. Dating back to last season, the Rush have defeated Wichita 13 out of the last 16 meetings. In fact, the Rush have won nine straight against the Thunder and have a solid record against the Thunder at home all-time.
THIRD PERIOD KEY - Wichita and Rapid City headed into the third period on Friday night in a scoreless game before the Rush tallied three. The Rush are outscoring their opponents 12-6 in the third period while Wichita is being outscored 10-5. The third period will be a major key in tonight's contest.
