Gabriel Verpaelst Signs PTO with Stockton Heat

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announce today that the Stockton Heat, American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Calgary Flames, signed defenceman Gabriel Verpaelst to a 25-game Professional Tryout contract (PTO).
Verpaelst, 22, appeared in all 51 games for the Norfolk Admirals this season, scoring 30 points (6-240) and accumulating 132 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Sherbrooke, QC native is sixth in scoring for defencemen in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) this season. The second-year pro has played in 117 games, totaling 9 goals, 31 assists, and 40 points.
The Norfolk Admirals play the second of 7 straight home games that extend into the month of March.
