THE MATCHUP

The South Carolina Stingrays hit the road for the second of four meetings with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits this week. Greenville won the first meeting, 4-2, Tuesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. Derek DeBlois and Austin Fyten had goals for the Stingrays in the loss. The Swamp Rabbits have won the past two meetings in the season series. After tonight's game, the club's meet four more times this season, including tomorrow and Sunday.The Stingrays' road record of 13-10-1-0 goes against the Swamp Rabbits' home record of 11-9-5-0 tonight.

THOSE "WASCALLY WABBITS"

Tonight's game is the seventh matchup between Greenville and South Carolina. The Stingrays are 1-4-1-0 on the season versus Greenville, with the club's lone victory coming in a 5-1 decision at the North Charleston Coliseum on December 12. Greenville captain Bretton Cameron has led the way for the Swamp Rabbits versus the Stingrays, scoring nine points (six goals, three assists) in six games, while South Carolina's Joe Devin has seven points (five goals, two assists) in four games versus Greenville.

WELCOME TO THE TEAM, KELLY

Earlier this week, the Stingrays boosted the roster with the signing of forward Kelly Zajac. He spent parts of three seasons with the Albany Devils of the AHL from 2012-15, including scoring a career best 44 points (12 goals, 32 assists) in 67 games during the 2013-14 campaign. Zajac played his NCAA hockey at Union College, scoring 128 points (37 goals, 91 assists) in 159 games over four seasons. He has three brothers who play hockey, including Travis, 30, who is an alternate captain for the New Jersey Devils.

SEVENTH HEAVEN

In Tuesday's contest against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Stingrays forward Brett Cameron notched an assist on Derek DeBlois' goal, extending his point streak to seven games. For rookie leaders, Cameron is ranked sixth in points, fourth in goals and third in minor penalties in the league. On the season, Cameron has 38 points (16 goals, 22 assists) in 45 games with the Stingrays.

SHORTHANDED STINGRAYS

The Stingrays boast one of the league's best penalty kills, checking in at 85.7%, good for seventh in the league. The club has also scored five of its six shorthanded goals on the season away from the North Charleston Coliseum.
