ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Alaska Aces have announced that Canadian college defenseman Marc-Andre Levesque has signed a contract with the club.

Aces President of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Rob Murray made the announcement Friday.

The 6-2, 220 pound defenseman was signed out of St. Thomas University of Fredericton, NB, Canada where he played 4 seasons and 111 games, scoring 4 goals with 32 assists for 36 points and 74 penalty minutes. The Longueuil, QC native also played 3 seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for Rimouski Oceanic and Prince Edward Island Rocket.

"Marc-Andre is a big, right-handed shot defenseman who has an excellent Canadian junior pedigree," said Murray. "He will help us immediately".

Alaska begins a 3-stop road trip today at Rapid City. Colorado and Idaho are also on the schedule in the next couple weeks.

The Aces return home to face Ft. Wayne Wednesday, March 9.
