Akron RubberDucks News Release
(AKRON, OHIO) July 7, 2022 - Due to the City of Akron's 10:00 p.m. curfew, the Akron RubberDucks adjusted the following game times in the current series against the Altoona Curve.
Friday, July 8's doubleheader will now begin at 3:30 p.m. with gates opening at 3:00 p.m. The teams will play two (2) seven inning games with a thirty-minute break between games. It will be a single admission doubleheader. The ZOOperstars! will perform during the second game of the twin bill.
Saturday, July 9's game will now be a 6:05 p.m. start with gates opening at 5:00 p.m.
The fireworks displays scheduled for both Friday and Saturday night have been postponed as a result of the curfew. The RubberDucks still have 14 remaining fireworks nights on the schedule during the 2022 season.
Sunday, July 10 will remain as previously scheduled: a 2:05 p.m. start, with gates opening at 1:00 p.m.
"The safety of our fans is our top priority," said Akron RubberDucks General Manager and COO Jim Pfander, "and we are working closely with the City of Akron to proactively move our game times up to be completed prior to the curfew. We look forward to seeing our fans at the ballpark this weekend and thank everyone for their patience and understanding."
