Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Catcher Logan O'Hoppe and pitcher Erik Miller were the selected as for the All-Star Futures game for top-prospects around the minor league system. The 2022 SiriusXM Game will be held on Saturday, July 16, at Dodger Stadium.
This season Logan O'Hoppe has played in 60 games for the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils. He is currently batting .269 after posting a .309 average in the month of May. He leads the team in RBIs (39), runs scored (42), and homers (14). He also has five stolen bases.
As a catcher, O'Hoppe impresses with a .992 fielding percentage and 5 caught stealings. He has made just two errors this season.
In the Eastern League, he sits seventh in slugging (.524) and OPS (.905). O'Hoppe is also eighth in homers and a tenth in runs scored.
A well-deserved selection for the Phillies #3 prospect and #90 overall in baseball. The West Islip, NY native was drafted by Philadelphia in the 23rd round in 2018. O'Hoppe currently ranks third out of all Phillies prospects.
Teammate Erik Miller, Phillies #10 prospect, has shined in Reading this season after spending most of 2021 on the injured list. The left-hander has made both starts and relief appearances and has adapted to each role. Miller boasts a 1.52 ERA in 13 outings with 7 starts. He has struck out 30 batters while allowing just four runs on 14 hits. The southpaw has never let up a home run.
In 2021, he struggled with a left shoulder sprain but rallied back and had a great stint in the Arizona Fall League. Miller pitched for Peoria in the AFL, posting a 1.80 ERA, that's just two earned runs in ten innings thrown against the best minor leaguers.
Miller was drafted in the fourth round in 2019 out of Stanford University. He was placed on the developmental list by the Phillies on June 9.
The 2022 Futures Game features the top Minor League prospects competing as part of the first-ever All-Star Saturday. It will once again feature a National League vs. American League format, which was introduced in 2019 following 20 years of U.S. vs. World matchups. The game, which is scheduled for seven innings, will begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 PT exclusively on Peacock and SiriusXM.
Two-time World Series Champion and World Series-winning manager Mike Scioscia will lead the NL squad, while fellow World Series Champion and 2007 NL Most Valuable Player Jimmy Rollins will manage the AL team.
SiriusXM, the Official Satellite Radio Partner of Major League Baseball, will provide live play-by-play coverage of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on MLB Network Radio. The game can be heard by SiriusXM subscribers on SiriusXM radios (channel 89), on the SXM App and online at SiriusXM.com/mlb.
