LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 0-3-0 OVERALL RECORD: 0-3-0, 0 pts. October 22 vs. Las Vegas, 5-1 Loss - The Falcons fell behind, 3-0, in a first period in which they were out-shot, 20-5, on their way to dropping their first season opener at home in nine years, 5-1, to the Las Vegas Wranglers.
October 23 @ San Diego, 7-2 Loss - A penalty-marred contest that resulted in 29 power plays between the two teams, the San Diego Gulls' power play outperformed Fresno's. The Gulls used four power play goals, including three five-on-threes, to run away from the Falcons, 7-2.
October 24 vs. Victoria, 5-0 Loss - Fresno ran into a hot goaltender as the Victoria Salmon Kings' David Brumby made 37 saves in Victoria's 5-0 win at Save Mart Center. The Falcons out-shot the Salmon Kings, 37-26, in the loss.
THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES
Friday, Oct. 29 vs. Idaho, 7 p.m. - The Falcons play the first of three in a row against the defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads. The first 2,500 fans will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Heald College.
Saturday, Oct. 30 vs. Idaho, 7 p.m. - It's White-Out night - all fans are encouraged to wear white as the Falcons play the second of three straight against the defending champs.
Sunday, Oct. 31 vs. Idaho, 5 p.m. - It's Halloween! All kids 12 & under wearing costumes get in for free! Adults wearing costumes get in for $5. Fresno battles Idaho in the finale of their three-game set.
NOTES
. Jason Weaver, Charles Simard and Kevin Truelson are the Falcons' three goal scorers after the first weekend of play.
. Fresno is 16th (14.3%) on the power play and 23rd (70.4%) on the penalty kill.
. The Falcons begin the week tied for seventh place in the West Division with the Alaska Aces, six points behind the first-place Bakersfield Condors.
