Ice Pilots defeat Mississippi 4-2 in season opener. The Pensacola Ice Pilots defeated Mississippi last Saturday night 4-2 in their season opener in front of 3,487 fans at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. After trailing 1-0 in the first period, the Ice Pilots scored 3 goals to lead 3-1 after one period and went on to win 4-2. Chris St. Jacques, Corey Neilson, Dwayne Hay and Tyler Beechey scored the goals for the Ice Pilots. Mike Jarmuth and Kerry Ellis-Toddington scored for Mississippi. The Ice Pilots had 42 shots on goal, 38 penalty minutes and went 2-6 on the power play. Mississippi had 32 shots on goal, 24 penalty minutes and went 1-8 on the power play. Frederic Cloutier was the winning goalie for the Ice Pilots and Jason Wolfe took the loss in goal for Mississippi.

Ice Pilots Home Opener is Saturday, October 30 vs. the Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will play their home opener vs. the Florida Everblades this Saturday, October 30th at "The Hangar" at 7:05 p.m. The Everblades lost to Idaho last season in the Kelly Cup Playoff Final Series. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record of 15-21-1 vs. Florida including a record of 8-8-1 at home and 7-13-0 on the road. The Ice Pilots had a record of 5-2-0 vs. Florida last season including a record of 3-1-0 on the road and 2-1-0 at home. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record of 6-2 in home openers. The Ice Pilots lost 3-1 in their home opener last season vs. Columbus.

Pensacola's Olympic Gold Medal Winner Justin Gatlin – The World's Fastest Human- will drop the ceremonial puck at the Ice Pilots home opener this Saturday, October 30 sponsored by Dodge Trucks. The Ice Pilots will also recognize "Celebrating Heroes" which is to thank everyone involved with the help and support of our city during and after Hurricane Ivan. Other Promotions for the home opener are the first 2,500 fans will receive an Ice Pilots magnetic schedule sponsored by Papa John's. A Halloween costume contest will take place for the kids. The U.S. Army Repel team will also perform and BellSouth Talking Phone book CDs will be passed out at the door. The Sims Jazz band will perform along with the Pace Cheerleaders brought to you by the Dodge Team of the Month.

Players Back From last season on roster: Ice Pilots defenseman Corey Neilson, defenseman Aaron Gionet, forward Dwayne Hay, right wing Aaron Phillips, forward Tyler Beechey and forward Jade Galbraith are currently on the Ice Pilots training camp roster who have played for the team last season. Neilson was named the ECHL's Defenseman of the Year and made All-ECHL First Team last year leading all defenseman in scoring with 78 points. Gionet played in a total of 60 games last year for the Ice Pilots scoring 2 goals, 9 assists for 11 points and picked up 103 penalty minutes. Hay was the top goal scorer for the Ice Pilots with 29 goals and third in scoring with 59 points. Phillips played in 70 games last season scoring 20 goals, 21 assists for 41 points. Beechey was the second leading scorer on the team last season with 60 points and Galbraith played in 28 games last season picking up 22 points.

Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots leading scorer award this season. During the season, we will be updating you with the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed Ice Pilots top scorer. At the end of the season, Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed will present a trophy to the Ice Pilots top scorer. Fans will have an update on the Barnes Ace Hardware and Feed top scorer in the weekly release and at www.icepilots.com.

GEICO Three Stars of the Game: GEICO will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots Three Stars of the Game once again on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network this season and at every home game. Three lucky fans at home games will receive a t-shirt from the GEICO Three Stars of the Game this season. Mr. Hank Dousharm of GEICO will present the Ice Pilot player with a trophy at the end of the season with the GEICO Star of the Game award as the points will be updated throughout the season after every game on the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com and every week with the Ice Pilots Weekly Release. Montgomery Paint Internet Sports Question. Once again this season Montgomery Paint will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots internet Sports Question during the broadcasts of Ice Pilots games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network and at www.icepilots.com.

Season Ticket Packages are available with year round payments: Full season ticket packages and 16 game packages are available with year round payments. The following is a list of the full season ticket plan with year round payments: $22 seats for floor and glass is $49.99 per month, $15 seats for sides is $35.99 per month, $13 seats for goal and lower upper level is $32.99 per month, $10 seats for upper level is $24.99 per month.

Season tickets cost $649.44 for floor and glass seats, $459.00 for sides, $411.84 for behind the goal and lower upper level seats and $324.00 for upper level seats.

16 Game Power Play Season Ticket Package: A discounted and flexible ticket package that you create by selecting your seats and the games you can attend. Fans can purchase five games of $15 lower level tickets for $50 for the games on Friday, November 5 vs. Louisiana 7:05 p.m., Sunday, November 7 vs. Augusta at 5:05 p.m., Friday, November 12 vs. Gwinnett at 7:05 p.m., Saturday, November 27 vs. Greenville at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, November 28 vs. Las Vegas at 5:05 p.m.

Group Tickets: Group tickets are available at the Ice Pilots office. A group of 15-24 will receive $2 off per ticket and scoreboard, public announcement recognition. A group of 25-99 will receive $2 off per ticket, scoreboard, public announcement recognition, the group leader receive two free tickets with a minimum of 25 tickets purchased and group members are eligible to become an MVP. Each group member fills out the MVP card and drops the card in the MVP box at customer service before the game and has the opportunity to win a valuable prize! Groups of 100 or more will receive scoreboard, public announcement recognition, two free tickets, MVP cards plus $3 off per ticket and an opportunity to perform the national anthem or participate in the ceremonial puck drop (Subject to availability and approval).

Birthday Parties: Celebrate your birthday with the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots birthday party package includes 10 $13 lower goal game tickets, Albertsons University Parkway Cookie Cake delivered by Iceman, a birthday card signed by the Ice Pilots, scoreboard recognition and the birthday child included in intermission activities. Assigned Players from Toronto Maple Leafs: The Ice Pilots currently have six players on the roster assigned from Toronto. They are goalie Todd Ford, defenseman Dave Turon, defenseman Dominic D'Amour, center Chris St. Jacques, center Kris Newbury and left wing Cam Keith.

Kerr's Kids: For the second season in a row the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite organizations devoted to helping children who are terminally ill or have special limitations to be our guest during the 2004-05 regular season for a great night of hockey. Each organization is encouraged to pick 3-4 dates throughout the regular season. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission for 12 people (We would like to have at least 6 or more children, escorts are required for the children and are counted as part of the 12). SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. If accessible seating is needed the Ice Pilots must be notified at least 2 days in advance and seating will be arranged. All members must stay in assigned seats. Please provide a list of attendee's 24 hours prior to game day. If you are interested in attending one of the Ice Pilots home game through "Kerr's Kids" please contact the Ice Pilots office at 432-7825 and ask for Melinda Palmer.

Listen to games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network with the new Ice Pilots Flagship radio home AM 1620: Fans can listen to Ice Pilots games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network. The network includes new flagship radio station AM 1620 and at icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. The pre-game show for Saturday's home opener vs. Florida begins at 7:20 p.m.

Ice Pilots Offer Pay-Per-View Webcasts with B2 Networks this season. The Ice Pilots home games and several road games will be available for viewing on the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com. The Ice Pilots have partnered with B2 Networks based in Las Vegas, Nevada on the pay-per-view broadcast.

Fans will be able to click on the "Watch the Game Live" icon at the Ice Pilots website to view and listen to the game. The broadcast is available to fans with a high speed DSL or Cable modem internet connection and the charge is $6 per game. At this time a total of 58 of the Ice Pilots 72 regular season games will be available for viewing at www.icepilots.com.

Ice Pilots Radio Show at the Gutter Lounge again this season: The Ice Pilots Radio show will once again be broadcasted from the Gutter Lounge at Phoenix Crossing inside the new Liberty Lanes this year located at 3200 North Palafox Street. The show is broadcasted on the Ice Pilots hockey network from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Fans can hear the radio show on the Ice Pilots new flagship radio station AM 1620 and on the internet at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. Fans can meet the players, head coach Dave Farrish and members of the Ice Pilots office staff all season long. The First radio show is tonight Monday, October 25th. Dwayne Hay and Corey Neilson are the scheduled player guests.
