The Johnstown Chiefs (1-0-1; 3 PTS; 3rd North div.) opened the 2004-2005 season on Saturday night with a 4-3 win over the Wheeling Nailers at the War Memorial Arena. The Chiefs followed up Saturday's win with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Dayton Bombers. The Chiefs are currently is sole possession of third place in the North division trailing first place Toledo and Trenton by one point. This week the Chiefs will host the Pee Dee Pride both Friday and Saturday nights. Face-off for both games is at 7:00 p.m.

GAME #1 (10/23/04) JOHNSTOWN 4 - Wheeling 3 Desrochers Goal, Assist

The Johnstown Chiefs opened up the 2004-2005 season at home Saturday night with a 4-3 win over the Wheeling Nailers in front of 3,317 fans at the Cambria County War Memorial. The Chiefs jumped out to a 4-0 lead with goals by Mike James, Jean Desrochers, John Kozoriz and P.L. Courchesne. Wheeling got third period goals by Ed McGrane, Steve Crampton and Jason Jaffray. Chiefs goaltender David Currie made 29 saves for his first win of the season while Wheeling goaltender Dany Sabourin stopped 22 Johnstown shots.

GAME #2 (10/24/04) Dayton 4 - JOHNSTOWN 3 (SO) Kelly Two Assists

The Johnstown Chiefs remained unbeaten in 2004-2005 with Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss against the Dayton Bombers at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. Jean Desrochers and Mike James scored for the Chiefs, each their second goal in as many nights. Shawn Mather added a power play goal for the Chiefs. Dayton got goals from Janne Jokila, Shawn Limpright and Aaron Foster. Chiefs goaltender David Currie made 19 saves in the contest, while Dayton goaltender Andrew Penner got his first win of the season making 30 saves.
