Attendance: 4,419
Brad Mehalko and Chris Twerdun both scored two goals and Mike Hofstrand had three points as the Condors impressed the Opening Night crowd with a 7- 2 win over Victoria. Brett Lutes, Luis Tremblay and Hofstrand were the other goal scorers for the Condors while Randy Petruk stopped 22 of 24 shots between the pipes for the victory. It was the first regular season game for a Canadian-based team in ECHL history.

Attendance: 5,986
Vlad Serov scored with under a minute to play to snap a 1-1 tie and give Bakersfield the narrow victory. The Salmon Kings scored just 11 seconds into the third frame to tie the game. Lars Peder Nagel also scored for the Condors in front of a crowd just shy of 6,000 fans.

Bakersfield trailed 4-2 with less than half a period to play, but two tallies in the span of a minute tied the game, and Chris Twerdun's second of the night lifted Bakersfield to the win in the final minute of play. Ryan Gillis, Connor James and Vlad Serov also scored for the Condors. Both teams were at 2-0 entering the game with first place on the line in this opening weekend of the season.

Where we are
The Condors are in first place in the West Division and National Conference and are the only 3- 0 team in the ECHL.

Notes from the Nest
· Rookie D Chris Twerdun has recorded two two-goal games out of three played this weekend. He leads the league in goals.
· Mike Hofstrand, Vlad Serov and Connor James have recorded at least one point in all three games.
· Randy Petruk started all three games in goal.
· Hofstrand scored the first goal by the Condors this season, just 18 seconds into the game on Opening Night.
· Bakersfield is 3-0 for the first time since starting the 1999-00 West Coast Hockey League season 11-0.
· The Condors power play was 3-for-3 on Sunday and operating at over 23% on the season.
· Bakersfield killed off the first 18 power plays against them this season, before Long Beach scored on their seventh power play of the night on Sunday.

Quote of the Week
"We're moving the puck well, we're breaking out well, we just have to practice a little and we'll be successful." Marty Raymond, talking about the power play during "Condors Countdown" prior to Sunday's game, which had gone 1-for-14 on Friday and Saturday. After the comment, the Condors were 3-for-3 on the power play in the game.
