LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 2-1-0 OVERALL RECORD: 10-19-3, 23 pts.

Jan. 1 vs. Long Beach, 4-3 Win – Greg Bullock scored twice and Blair Clarance tallied the game-winner three minutes into the third period as Fresno defeated the Long Beach Ice Dogs for the third time in as many meetings at Save Mart Center, 4-3.

Jan. 3 vs. Idaho, 5-4 Overtime Win – A thrilling game that featured a bit of everything – power play goals, short-handed goals, fights, penalty shots, goals with the netminder pulled and overtime – came down to a buzzer-beater by Bullock with less than a second to play as the Falcons topped the Steelheads for the first time this year, 5-4.

Jan. 4 vs. Idaho, 4-0 Loss – Fresno suffered an emotional letdown from the night before, getting outshot 21-2 in the first period on their way to a 3-0 deficit after one. The Falcons eventually lost, 4-0, the first time they have been shutout this season.

THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES

Tuesday, Jan. 6 @ Las Vegas, 7 p.m. (Live radio broadcast on KAAT 103.1 FM at 6:50 p.m.)

Friday, Jan. 9 vs. Idaho, 7 p.m. – Fresno hosts the Steelheads for the third time in four games. The first 1,000 kids 14 and under will receive a Falcons backpack courtesy of KSEE 24 and MEGA 97.9. After the game, fans are invited to join all of the Falcons players at Tony Roma's located on the southwest corner of Cedar and Shaw.

NOTES

· Bullock's overtime winner on Saturday was his team-leading sixth power play goal. He also leads the club in total goals (16), assists (21) and points (37). He has points in 27 of the team's 32 games, leading the entire Pacific Division in scoring.

· Mike Sandbeck scored a short-handed goal on Saturday, his first and the team's fifth. Since returning from an 18-game stint on injured reserve, he has three goals and two assists in five games.

· Goaltender Nolan Schaefer made a team season-high 44 saves on Saturday before finding out after the game that he received a call-up to the San Jose Sharks.

· Fresno's victories on Thursday and Saturday were their first back-to-back wins since Nov. 7 and 8.

· Until Sunday's loss, the club had played six straight one-goal games, going 2-3-1.

· Fresno is 16th (16.5%) on the power play this season and 18th (82.8%) on the penalty kill.

· The Falcons begin the week in sixth place in the Pacific Division. They are 17 points back of the San Diego Gulls, who currently reside in the Pacific's final playoff position.

THIS WEEK'S PRACTICE TIMES

The Falcons left for Las Vegas on Monday and after returning to Fresno on Wednesday will resume practice on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Gateway Ice Center. The club will also practice on Friday and Sunday at Save Mart Center at 10 a.m.
