Dale Earnhardt Jr. Car On Display Feb. 21st
January 6, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that the Chevrolet #8 Budweiser Dale Earnhardt Jr. car will be on display at the War Memorial during the Chiefs versus Trenton Titans game on Saturday, February 21st. Game time is at 7:05 p.m. The event is sponsored by Von's United Beverage.
"The success of having Jeff Gordon's car here last November brought forth the Earnhardt car. That night our attendance had a significant increase and with the popularity of Dale Jr. this was a no brainer. The people in this area are some of NASCAR's biggest fans. We hope to see them at the game on February 21st," said Jim Brazill, Chiefs Vice-President and General Manager.
Arguably, Earnhardt is NASCAR's most popular driver having seven career victories in his brief six year career. The 29 year-old Earnhardt had two wins in 2003, most recently the Checker Auto Parts 500 presented by Havoline on November 2nd, at Phoenix International Raceway.
The car will be on display in the new storage building adjacent to the arena from 5:30 p.m., until the end of the hockey game. Fans must purchase tickets to the game in order to view the car. Photos will be available.
The Chiefs are back in action Wednesday night when they visit the Trenton Titans at 7:00 p.m. Friday night, they host the Cincinnati Cyclones and Saturday night the Reading Royals. Face-off for both home games is at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all remaining Chiefs home games are available at the War Memorial Arena box office or by calling (814) 536-5156 or 1-800-CHF-TIXX.
