Rybar Retires
January 6, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans announced today that center Joe Rybar has retired in order to pursue his academic interests at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada.
"Joe has had this on his radar screen for a while and we're happy that it worked out for him," said Titans President and General Manager, Rich Lisk.
The sixth-year pro out of Fernie, BC was signed as a free agent by the Titans on October 3, 2003 and stepped in immediately to center the top line with Scott Bertoli and Matt Zultek. Though struggling offensively earlier this season, Rybar had come on as of late, notching a goal and four assists in his last three games. He recorded 20 points (8g, 12a) and 20 PIM in 27 games this season with the Titans.
The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL - America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Titans take on the Johnstown Chiefs at Sovereign Bank Arena on Wednesday, January 7 at 7:00pm. Trenton will then host the Dayton Bombers on Friday, January 9 at 7:30pm and Saturday, January 10 at 7:00pm. For ticket information, call a Titans Sales Representative at 609.599.9500.
