Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV â For the second consecutive week the Wheeling Nailers have a player named InGlasCo ECHL Player of the Week. Nailers forward Jason Jaffray has been honored for the week of December 29-January 4.
Jaffray had 14 points in four games last week, all wins for the Nailers. Jaffray had one goal and four assists in a 9-3 home win over Toledo on Wednesday. In three games in three days over the weekend he had two goals and one assist in all three games. Of the seven goals Jaffray scored last week, four were power play goals and one was a game-winning goal. Jaffray also played at a +6 for the week.
Jaffray is on a four game goal scoring and point streak after his performance last week, and has at least one point in eight of his last 11 games. Jaffray not only leads the Nailers in goals, assists and points, he also leads the team with nine power play goals and is tied for the team lead in power play points with 17.
Last week the ECHL named Nailers forward Eddie Pershin their InGlasCo Player of the Week. It is the third time this season that a team has had the Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks; Pensacola and Mississippi have also had two consecutive Player of the Week winners.
