Fresno's Mehalko Suspended Five Games

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Tuesday that it has suspended Fresno right wing Brad Mehalko for five games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game # 469 against Long Beach on January 1.

At 14:48 of the second period, Mehalko delivered a forceful two-handed slash to the arm of a Long Beach player causing injury. Mehalko was assessed a major penalty for slashing and a game misconduct under Rule 85(b). He is suspended five games under Rule 33A Supplementary Discipline.

Mehalko missed Fresno's games vs. Idaho on January 3 and 4 and will miss Fresno's game at Las Vegas (Jan. 6), vs. Idaho (Jan. 9) and vs. Texas (Jan. 13).
