Francisco Martinez Selected to EL Home Run Derby

(Erie, PA) - The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are pleased to announce that third baseman Francisco Martinez has been selected to the 2011 Eastern League Home Run Derby, which will take place on Wednesday, July 13 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Martinez, the 20-year old native of Edo Miranda, Venezuela, currently leads the SeaWolves with seven home runs and is second on the club with 40 RBI. He is the rated as the fourth-best prospect in the Tigers organization according to Baseball America. Martinez will also participate in the 2011 XM All-Stars Futures Game at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ on July 10.
