Published on July 7, 2011 under Eastern League (EL1) News Release

Manchester, NH - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, in conjunction with the Eastern League, today announce the six participants for the 2011 Bonneville & Son Home Run Derby on Wednesday, July 13, at 5:00 p.m., as a part of the festivities surrounding the Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, NH.

The Eastern Division All-Stars will be represented by a pair of New Hampshire Fisher Cats in outfielder Moises Sierra and first baseman Mike McDade, along with Reading Phillies first baseman Matt Rizzotti. The Western Division All-Stars will be represented by Harrisburg infielder Tyler Moore, outfielder Archie Gilbert and Erie third baseman Francisco Martinez.

Boston-based comedian Jimmy Dunn will emcee the Bonneville & Son Home Run Derby at 5:00 p.m. At that time, the six participants will compete in the first round (six outs per batter) of the derby, when the four batters having the highest homerun totals will advance to the second round (six outs per batter). The two participants with the highest cumulative total of homeruns at the end of the first and second rounds will advance to the championship round. The finals (10 outs per batter) will then take place during the middle of the second inning of the Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All- Star Game, when the finalists will showdown to determine a champion.

Throughout the derby, special Power Balls will be randomly pitched to the contestants. Power Balls will be matched with dollar values and for each that is hit for a homerun, Bonneville & Son will make a monetary donation to the New Horizons Soup Kitchen.

"The Bonneville & Son Home Run Derby is a highly anticipated event and we are excited to have two members of the Fisher Cats participating in front of our home fans this year," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "Thanks to Bonneville & Son, the New Horizons Soup Kitchen will benefit from every Power Ball hit out of the park, which makes this home run derby even more meaningful."
