B-Mets End Homestand on High Note, 10-4

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Mets capped a nine-game homestand with a 10-4 win over the Portland Sea Dogs this afternoon at NYSEG Stadium.

After the teams traded runs in the first inning, Binghamton took the lead for good in the second. Raul Reyes worked out a leadoff walk and moved to second on Dusty Ryan's bloop single to right, his first hit as a B-Met.

After Eric Campbell walked to load the bases, Jose Coronado smacked a grounder to first. The ball kicked off the glove of Reynaldo Rodriguez and rolled towards the fence where it was snatched up by a fan. Two runs came home on the play.

The errors would not stop for Portland. Second baseman Oscar Tejeda booted Matt den Dekker's groundball allowing Campbell to come home.

Josh Satin put a cap on the inning by doubling down the third base line to bring home a pair of runs and give Binghamton a five-run lead.

It was all the offense starter Brandon Moore would need to snap his four game losing streak. After allowing an RBI single to Tim Federowicz in the first, Moore retired 17 of the next 19 Sea Dogs he faced. He worked around a pair of singles in a scoreless seventh to close out his day.

Binghamton tacked one four additional runs on Matt Gonzalez and Junich Tazawa, including solo homers from Dusty Ryan and Matt den Dekker. Both shots were their first dingers as B-Mets.

Josh Stinson tossed the final two innings and allowed three runs on four hits. Binghamton handed Portland starter Stolmy Pimentel his ninth loss of the season.

The B-Mets (31-55) hit the road for four games against the New Britain Rock Cats for their final series before the All-Star break. LHP Robert Carson (2-7, 4.27) will face off against RHP Liam Hendriks (8-2, 2.70) tomorrow night with first pitch set for 7:05pm. The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pre-Game Show begins at 6:50pm on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
