Erie SeaWolves News Release

The SeaWolves were shut out on Thursday and swept by the Harrisburg Senators, 5-0 at Metro Bank Park. It was the fourth consecutive loss for the SeaWolves who have dropped their last eight road games.

The Senators scored first for the fourth straight game in the bottom of the first against Erie starter Casey Crosby. Bill Rhinehart was hit by a pitch with two outs and Tyler Moore singled putting two on for Chris Rahl. Rahl doubled down the left field line, plating the runners for a 2-0 Harrisburg lead.

In the third, Rhinehart led off against Crosby and connected on a solo home right to right. It was the third home run of the series and 17th of the season for Rhinehart, giving the Sens a 3-0 lead. Rahl walked with one out and scored on a two-out Archie Gilbert double for a 4-0 Senators edge.

In the fifth, Moore homered with two outs and the solo blast put the Senators up 5-0. The home run for Moore was his 17th.

The SeaWolves had just two hits in the game, a single from Brandon Douglas in the second and a Rawley Bishop double in the fourth. Senators pitchers faced just two over the minimum in the game.

Chien-Ming Wang, on rehab from the Nationals, tossed five shutout innings allowing two hits with no walks and two strikeouts picking up the win.

Crosby (5-3) took the loss, his first since May 11. He allowed five runs on eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts. The five runs was the most Crosby has allowed in a game since May 6 against Bowie.

The SeaWolves will continue their eight-game road trip on Friday night at Canal Park against the Akron Aeros.7:05 First Pitch. LHP Jay Voss (4-3, 3.80 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP Austin Adams (5-8, 4.38 ERA) for the Aeros.
