
Fourth Loss in a row for Lehigh Valley

(Allentown, Pa) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (43-55) dropped their fourth straight game to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (59-37) as they lost 11-4.
Cristopher Sanchez (4-6) struck out the side in the top of the first inning, Lehigh Valley took a 2-0 lead against JP Sears (2-0) in the bottom of the first inning. Mickey Moniak and Matt Vierling each hit RBI singles. The RailRiders jumped ahead 3-2 in the top of the second inning against Sanchez. Max McDowell hit a two-run double that was followed by an RBI single from Cristian Perez.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre scored five more runs against Sanchez in the top of the third inning to extend their lead to 8-2. Sanchez was chased from the game only recording one out in the inning. Trey Amburgey hit an RBI single that was followed by a two-run single from McDowell. Max Burt added an RBI single as well.
Damon Jones turned in 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief that was followed by two scoreless innings from Ramon Rosso. Rosso struck out four batters over the outing.
The Pigs were able to get two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead to 8-4 for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Alec Bohm hit an RBI double then scored on a fielding error from RailRiders centerfielder Jonathan Davis.
The RailRiders extended their lead to 11-4 in the top of the eighth inning against Mike Adams. Davis hit a two-run single, and Greg Allen added an RBI single.
The Pigs and RailRiders play on Saturday evening at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
