Forward Ryan Schnell Returned to Nailers

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, AA affiliate for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, announced today that forward Ryan Schnell has been returned to the Nailers from Wilkes-Barre / Scranton.

Schnell, 22, spent the majority of the last two seasons with the Nailers, before earning a spot on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's opening night roster this fall. In 102 career games with Wheeling, the Cary IL native has recorded five goals, six assists, 11 points, and 350 penalty minutes, which includes 19 penalty minutes from a three-game series at Florida in November, during his lone stint with the Nailers this season. In 12 games with the Baby Pens this season, Schnell has picked up one assist and 46 penalty minutes, giving him a total of three points and 83 penalty minutes in 23 career AHL contests.

Schnell will join the Nailers this weekend, as they play two games at Cambria County War Memorial Arena, taking on the Toledo Walleye and Elmira Jackals.
