Ontario Reign News Release

ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, have announced that forward C.J. Stretch has been called up to the AHL for the first time in his career by the Houston Aeros.

Stretch, 22, leads the Ontario Reign in points this season and is currently in fifth place in the league with 41 (18g, 23a). The center has played in all 37 Reign games this season and boasted a six-game point streak from Oct. 28 through Nov. 11.

The Irvine, Calif. native signed with the Reign during the 2009-10 season playing in just one game, where he scored his first professional career goal. He re-signed with the team for the 2010-11 season appearing in 46 games and recording 21 points (9g, 12a).

This summer, Stretch was called up to skate with the Los Angeles Kings at their training camp. This was his second time practicing with an NHL club; three years ago Stretch played with the San Jose Sharks at their camp.

Prior to turning professional, the 5-foot-11 forward played with the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL for five seasons. Between 2005 and 2010, Stretch played in 341 games posting 248 points (85g, 163a).

Stretch is the third member of the Ontario Reign to be called to the AHL by the Houston Aeros this season. The Aeros previously brought up goaltender Darcy Kuemper, yet to be returned, and defenseman Mike Montgomery, returned earlier this month.
