Forward Daniel Koger Heads to AHL

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, announced today that forward Daniel Koger has been called up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Koger, 22, dressed in 10 games with the Stingrays this season scoring four goals and three assists for seven points. Acquired by the Stingrays from the Cincinnati Cyclones on February 15, the Szekesfehervar, Hungary, native skated in 22 contests with the Cyclones netting 20 points (5g, 15a). Koger also appeared in 13 AHL games this season with the Milwaukee Admirals, Providence Bruins and St. John's IceCaps earning one assist.

Last season, Koger finished third in team scoring with the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League (CHL) grabbing 52 points (29g, 23a) in 64 games. In Hungary, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound forward won a silver medal in the 2009-10 and 2010-11 World Championships and claimed silver with the Under-18 team and gold with the under-20 squad in 2006-07.

The Stingrays continue a six-game homestand on Friday, March 16 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:05 p.m. the North Charleston Coliseum.
