STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," announced the fourth annual "Easy Being Green" event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Mar. 16-17 at Stockton Arena for two games against Las Vegas and Utah beginning at 7:30 p.m.

"Thunder's Easy Being Green" is presented by Port of Stockton California and sponsored by Amtrak California, The Surtec System, California Water Service Company, Delta College Horticulture Program, Miracle Mile Realty, PG&E, Clark/McCarthy, a joint venture, KAT Country 103, KHOP 95.1, 99.3 KJOY, AM 970 ESPN Radio, 97.7/98.3 KWIN and 104.1 The Hawk. Last year's event nearly drew 15,000 fans to Stockton Arena for two games against Victoria on Mar. 25-26.

The event unites hockey and community involvement with an eco-friendly campaign for both games, capping off a month-long environmental awareness promotion throughout the Central Valley with "green-themed" weekend events.

Continuing the event's tradition, Stockton Arena's concourse will be transformed into a "Green Fair" that invites all fans in attendance to visit booths hosted by local environmentally conscious organizations, ranging in categories including recycling, anti-pollution, clean air, water, renewable energy sources, eco-friendly agriculture and more. Doors will open beginning at 6:30 p.m.

During the game, Dorfman Pacific will be presented as winner of this year's "Easy Being Green" award - selected in conjunction with Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce "Green Team San Joaquin." Two dollars for each ticket sold and a portion of the event proceeds will benefit the United Way on behalf of Dorfman Pacific.

Fans can show their pride with eco-friendly Thunder tote bags, distributed to the first 2,000 families in attendance. Also, the first 2,000 kids (ages 12 and under) in attendance will receive a Thunder's "Easy Being Green" activity book.

On the way out, each household will take home a free tree sapling or plant, courtesy of and grown by the San Joaquin Delta College Horticulture Program.

The Thunder will also sport special "St. Patrick's Day" jerseys for both games on Friday and Saturday. The black jerseys, featuring classic "tie down" laces on the front with green accented bolts, will be auctioned off immediately following Saturday's game. Proceeds will benefit the Stockton Thunder foundation.

Tickets for both Friday and Saturday's games are on sale beginning at $7 and can be purchased by calling (209) 373-1500 or by visiting www.StocktonTickets.com. For more information about tickets, merchandise, or other inquiries contact the Stockton Thunder offices at (209) 373-1500 or visit http://www.stocktonthunder.com/.
