Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that the proceeds from the St. Patrick's Day Jersey Auction on Saturday, March 17, will benefit the American Brain Tumor Association.

The Express will be wearing special St. Patrick's Day Jerseys during their game on Saturday, March 17, and the jerseys will then be auctioned off live after the game. Proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the American Brain Tumor Association, who for nearly 40 years has provided funding to help researchers break new ground on brain tumor diagnosis, treatment, and care. The Express were touched personally by brain cancer, as former employee Steve Talbott died from a brain cancer in May of 2011.

"Steve Talbott was a close personal friend," said Chicago Express owner Craig Drecktrah. "He was one of our employees that was instrumental to getting the Express off the ground. He is sorely missed, and we are glad to be able to make a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association in his memory."

Chicago returns home to take on the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday, March 14. The homestand continues against Toledo on Friday, March 16, and against the Trenton Titans on Saturday, March 17, and Sunday, March 18. Friday night is a Dollar Friday at the Sears Centre Arena, while on Saturday the Express will have St. Patrick's Day Festivities, including a game-worn-jersey auction after the game. Following Sunday's game, all fans are invited to skate with the team for free after the contest. To get tickets to any of those games, call the Express at 224-220-1333.
