Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the seventh consecutive year, the TinCaps are one of the top 25 best-selling brands in all of Minor League Baseball (160 teams), MiLB announced Monday.
The TinCaps were one of just three Midwest League teams to make the top 25 for licensed merchandise sales in 2015. Sixteen Triple-A teams and four Double-A squads populated the list. The TinCaps have cracked the list in each year of the team's existence.
"Our logo has always been known to fans as unique" TinCaps Merchandise Manager Jen Klinker said. "I think having that distinguishable brand is why we continue to be successful with our merchandise."
The Orchard Team Store sells merchandise internationally and has made sales to 48 states.
"To me, it's indicative of the Parkview Field experience," TinCaps President Mike Nutter said. "Fans have such a great time here at the ballpark and want some sort of memento from the experience - whether that's a jersey, a hat or any other item."
A nationally recognized brand, the TinCaps are one of just 45 teams contracted with the Minor League Baseball Replica Program, which allows Little League teams from across the country to wear the TinCaps logo on their uniforms.
In 2015, the 160 teams combined to set a Minor League Baseball record with more than $65.1 million in retail sales, which marks a 7.9 percent increase from 2014.
Alphabetically, the other top 25 teams are: the Albuquerque Isotopes, Biloxi Shuckers, Charlotte Knights, Columbus Clippers, Dayton Dragons, Durham Bulls, El Paso Chihuahuas, Frisco RoughRiders, Indianapolis Indians, Lake Elsinore Storm, Lakewood BlueClaws, Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Louisville Bats, Nashville Sounds, Oklahoma City Dodgers, Pawtucket Red Sox, Reno Aces, Sacramento River Cats, Salt Lake Bees, San Antonio Missions, South Bend Cubs, Tacoma Rainiers, Toledo Mud Hens and Trenton Thunder.
The Orchard Team Store is open year-round, Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as well as on game days. TinCaps merchandise is also sold online at TinCaps.com.
