Zack Littell Wins Midwest League Pitcher of the Week

Clinton, IA - LumberKings starting pitcher Zack Littell has won the Midwest League Pitcher Of The Week award for June 6th-12th, the Midwest League office announced today. He is the first LumberKing to win the honor in 2016 and the first LumberKing since Daniel Missaki in 2015 to win the award.

In his last two starts, spanning the week, Littell has thrown 14 combined shutout innings, picking up wins in both starts. On June 7th at Wisconsin, Littell threw six shutout innings, allowing just five hits while striking out eight. Yesterday against Beloit, Littell faced just one batter over the minimum over eight innings, allowing just three hits, not issuing a walk while striking out a season high nine. He had seven quality starts and has won each of his last three starts. As it currently stands, Littell leads the Midwest League with 80 innings pitched, and also had a league high 76 strikeouts.
