Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Buffalo Bisons announced that Kissena Frazier was voted by fans as the winner of the second annual Your Neighborhood Ford Stores present Fox 29's Buffalo's Ballpark Idol, brought to you by Alfred State College, Kiss 98.5 and Outer Limit Recording Studio. The announcement was made after the third inning of the Herd's Tuesday night game against Ottawa Lynx.
Kissena defeated Lila Alhorbi in the finals on Monday, August 28 to win the trip, including airfare to Minneapolis, MN for an official audition to the next "American Idol" competition. She will also receive a recording studio package that will include the production of a three-song demo CD and have the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a future Bisons game.
For finishing second, Lila will be given an MP3 prize package, including a year of Napster service, worth over $800.
Kissena was one of six finalists selected from a pair of open auditions held by the Bisons in early August. Then on Wednesday, August 23, she was the top vote-getter in the second of two Semi-Finals held during inning breaks of the game. She sang her way into the finals with a thrilling rendition of Journey's hit, "With Open Arms." On August 28, she defeated Lila Alhorbi with her rendition of Mariah Carey's "Hero."
Kissena and the other five finalists were selected by a panel of judges at the two open auditions. The Semi-Final and Final rounds were decided by in-park voting only.
