
Mud Hens run over Bulls 6-1

Durham NC - Toledo scored two runs in the third, sixth and ninth innings while stealing three bases and capitalizing on three errors to defeat the Bulls, 6-1 on Tuesday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Despite leaving 13 runners on base, the Mud Hens were able to bring six across the plate and hold the Bulls to one run on 10 hits.
Ryan Raburn hit his 20th home run of the season in the ninth inning and finished 3-5 on the night with four RBI and a run scored. Dustan Mohr drove in the Hens' other two runs on his seventh home run of the season in the sixth.
Bulls Outfielder Darnell McDonald, who was named to the IL post-season All-Star team earlier today, finished 2-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. He now leads the league in hits with 152. Brent Butler and Shawn Riggans both finished 2-4 on the night.
Brian Boehringer (3-0) picked up the win for the Mud Hens, going seven innings while allowing one run on eight hits while striking out three. Chris Seddon (9-8) took the loss for the Bulls, going four innings while allowing two runs off six hits and four walks, while striking out five. Jason Karnuth picked up his second save of the season after pitching two scoreless innings with two hits allowed.
Durham opens their final two-game set with Columbus tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. as RHP Doug Waechter (1-11) faces RHP Jorge De Paula (4-9) at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Tickets are available at the Durham Bulls Box office, by phone at (919) 956-BULL or online at www.durhambulls.com.
