Flames Top Wolves On Chucko Marker

The Flames nabbed their first ever home ice win vs. Chicago on Friday night by a final of 2-1. Kris Chucko scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period while David Van der Gulik added a power-play goal in the second period. Leland Irving received first star honors as he extended his personal winning streak to four games by making 17 saves.

The Wolves captured a 1-0 lead on the only goal of the first period. Jordan LaVallee scored a shorthanded goal at 4:49 of the period with assists going to Jamie River and Steve Martins.

The Flames tied the game with a power-play goal at 6:01 of the second period. David Van der Gulik converted on a chance during a goal-mouth scramble to knot the score. John Armstrong and Dan Spang earned assists on the goal, and the tally stood up as the only goal of the middle period.

Kris Chucko netted the game-winning goal with 9:34 left in the third period. Chucko sent a one-timer past Chicago's Dan Turple following a feed from defenseman Ryan Wilson. The tally stood up as the Flames continued to control the period following Chucko's tally. The Flames outshot Chicago 11-3 en route to Quad City's first ever home ice win vs. the Wolves.
