The game also features Olympian Night, with local 2008 Olympic fencers Hannah Thompson and Iris Zimmerman on hand to meet with fans and give a fencing demonstration. Lastly, tonight is also the Amerks' first "Seven Dollar Friday." For every Friday night home game, fans can purchase 200-upper end or balcony seating for just $7.00.
Head-to-Head: The game is the first of two scheduled meetings between the Amerks and Monarchs this season. Rochester split the season series against Manchester last season but holds a 3-1-0 lifetime record against the Los Angeles Kings' affiliate.
Amerks Notes: Rochester (2-14-0-1, five points) enters the contest on a five-game losing streak, with the most recent loss coming in a 5-2 decision to the Toronto Marlies Wednesday night at The Blue Cross Arena. Stefan Meyer picked up his fourth goal of the season and Amerks captain Rory Fitzpatrick netted his first of the season to tally Rochester's pair of markers. Second-year forward Kenndal McArdle (3+6) and rookies Michal Repik (4+5) and Jason Garrison (1+8) are currently locked in a three-way tie with nine points apiece for the team lead. Michael Duco remains the Amerks' top goal scorer, while Garrison's eight helpers are also a team-high. Six of his assists have come on the man advantage, good enough for 16th in the American Hockey League. Second-year blueliner Jordan Henry leads the team with a plus-two rating through just seven games and comes into tonight on the heels of a three-game point streak (1+2). Duco ranks first on the team and third in the AHL with 83 penalty minutes (PIM), with McArdle a distant second with 49 PIM.
Monarchs Notes: Manchester (4-6-0-3, 11 points), playing Game 2 of a five-game road swing, comes into the game the winners in two of its last three games after a 4-2 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs at Copps Coliseum Wednesday night. Manchester's offense is currently piloted by third-year centerman Gabe Gauthier, who has a team-high 12 points and nine assists and has skated in all 13 games for the Monarchs thus far this season. Last season's AHL Rookie of the Year, Teddy Purcell, has five goals on the year for the team lead while his 10 points ties him for second best on the team. Kevin Westgarth's 55 PIM ranks him first on the team and 13th in the league, respectively. The Monarchs are presently tied for the last place standing in the AHL's Atlantic Division.
Next Game: Rochester travels to Toronto on Wednesday, November 26th in search for its first win against the Marlies this season at Ricoh Coliseum. The 11:30 a.m. day-game matinee will be the third of eight scheduled meetings between the North Division rivals and will be broadcast tape-delayed on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
Next Home Game: The Amerks are home again on Friday, November 28th to host the Lake Erie Monsters for a 7:35 p.m. faceoff at The Blue Cross Arena. The first of six meetings will be carried live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
