Iowa Chops News Release

The Chops put together a solid offensive effort on Friday night against the Milwaukee Admirals. The only problem was the Chops couldn't find the back of the net and were shutout for the first time this season as Admirals goaltender Drew McIntyre made 27 saves in a 3-0 Admirals win over the Chops. The Chops started out strong, outshooting the Admirals 12-10 in the 1st period. Chops goaltender JP Levasseur was strong between the pipes, keeping the Admirals on bay with several big saves. The Admirals scored the only goal of the second period as Antti Pihlstrom raced in on a breakaway and slid one past Levasseur on the glove side for a 1-0 lead and ultimately the game-winning goal. The Admirals added two more in the 3rd period, another from Pihlstrom and one from Ryan Jones to win 3-0. The game also lacked a lot of special teams chances, as only four minor penalties were called (2 for each team). The Chops went 0 for 2 on the power play. Levasseur finished with 23 saves on 26 Admirals shots.
