Hartford, Conn. - Despite watching the Hartford Wolf Pack rally from a two-goal deficit to force overtime, the Lowell Devils were able to triumph in the shootout, 4-3, on Friday at the XL Center. The Devils ended a seven-game winless streak and rookie goaltender Jeff Frazee picked up the first victory of his pro career.

With Lowell holding a 3-1 edge in the final frame, Artem Anisimov provided all the scoring for Hartford to send the game past regulation. Anisimov redirected Dale Weise's centering feed past Frazee at 13:38 to pull the Wolf Pack within one. His team would then catch a break on a Brad Mills' high sticking double minor late in the contest. With 6.4 seconds remaining and Hartford skating 6-on-4, Anisimov stationed atop of the crease and tipped home Corey Potter's point shot to knot the score.

After overtime went without a goal, the shootout was all offense as both the Devils and Wolf Pack converted on four chances through five rounds. In sudden death Lowell defenseman Tyler Eckford beat Miika Wiikman with a wrister to the left corner, while Frazee got some revenge by stoning Anisimov and securing the win.

A scoreless tie in the game was broken at 11:19 of the second period as Michael Swift gathered his second goal of the season. Chad Wiseman skated with the puck from the far corner all the way to the point before throwing a shot toward the crease that Swift lunged to deflect past Wiikman.

The Devils made it a 2-0 lead just 58 seconds into the third period when Jon DiSalvatore knocked the rebound from his own stuff attempt up and over the left shoulder of Wiikman. The Wolf Pack got on the board only 38 seconds later on Greg Moore's marker, but DiSalvatore would help put the Devils back up by two. The Lowell right wing crashed into the Hartford zone to set up Alexander Vasyunov in the slot for a one-timer that sailed into the net at 5:09.

Frazee made 30 saves in what was the second shootout in a row for the Devils. Lowell fell at home on November 15 to Albany, 3-2. The Devils were 0-for-6 on the power play and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill.
