On Thursday, Mark Cullen netted a hat trick to help Manitoba post a 5-2 win over San Antonio... In Wednesday's action, Scott Munroe posted a 31-save shutout to help Philadelphia past Albany, 5-0... Kris Newbury had a game-high three points (1-2-3) in Toronto's 5-2 win at Rochester... 2007-08 OHL scoring champion Justin Azevedo recorded three assists in his return to Ontario as Manchester defeated Hamilton, 4-2.

LOOKING AHEAD:
The top two teams in the Atlantic Division square off on Friday when Portland (12-1-1-0) visits the Dunkin' Donuts Center to take on Providence (9-5-1-0)... The Pirates have won eight in a row and are 10-0-1-0 since suffering their lone regulation loss of the season, a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Bruins on Oct. 19... The Pirates' Tim Kennedy (5-16-21) leads all AHL rookies in scoring, while teammate Nathan Gerbe ranks second (12-8-20)... Mark Mancari ranks second in the league overall with 25 points (11-14-25), and Mathieu Darche has netted a goal in his last four outings (6-2-8)... Martins Karsums shows a three-game goal-scoring run (3-2-5) for the Bruins, and Vladimir Sobotka (2-4-6) and Martin St. Pierre (0-6-6) also have three-game point streaks... Providence's Johnny Boychuk leads AHL defensemen in scoring (4-14-18).
Second place in the West Division is on the line Friday as Rockford (9-6-0-1) hosts Peoria (9-6-1-0) for the second time in six days... The IceHogs took a 4-1 win over the Rivermen on Sunday, their second straight victory following a six-game slide... Petri Kontiola paces the Rockford offense with 15 points (6-9-15) and has found the scoresheet in four of his last five contests (1-4-5)... IceHogs goaltender Antti Niemi ranks fourth in the league with a 1.63 goals-against average in nine games (5-3-1)... Chris Conner has scored a goal in five straight games (5-2-7) for the Rivermen and, with Steve Regier on NHL recall, leads the active roster with nine goals and 14 points overall... Peoria's Julian Talbot shows six goals (6-6-12), five of which have come on the power play... Rockford's power play ranks second in the league at 22.1 pecent (21-for-95).
Bridgeport visits Hershey on Saturday in a battle of the East Division's first- and second-place teams... The Sound Tigers, idle Friday, are 6-0-0-1 in their last seven games and show a league-high 28 points overall (13-3-0-2), while the Bears, who open the weekend in Philadelphia, have outscored opponents 19-5 in posting three straight wins... Mike Iggulden (11-9-20) and Kurtis McLean (6-14-20) are tied for the Bridgeport team scoring lead... McLean and rookie Jesse Joensuu each scored twice in the Sound Tigers' 4-1 win over Hershey on Nov. 9... The Bears' Keith Aucoin leads the league with 26 points (7-19-26) following his five-point effort (1-4-5) on Sunday against Binghamton... Alexandre Giroux shows six points (2-4-6) in his last two games entering the weekend... The Bears are averaging an AHL-high 4.39 goals per game.
