Crunch to Host Food Drive to Benefit Food Bank of Central New York

Syracuse, NY (November 21, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they will hold a food drive this weekend to benefit the Food Bank of Central New York.

On Saturday, November 22 vs. Albany and Sunday, November 23 vs. Binghamton, fans are encouraged to bring unopened cans or boxes of nonperishable food, including soups, canned tuna, fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, assorted cereals and oatmeal, as well as various pasta, rice and grains.

Donation boxes will be located in the State Street and Montgomery Street lobbies during each game.

The Food Bank of Central New York serves 11 counties and distributes over 10 million pounds of food annually.

The Crunch's next game is Friday, November 21 as they travel to Albany to begin a home-and-home series with the River Rats. The Crunch faces Albany again Saturday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at 315-473-4444, stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling Ticketmaster at 315-472-0700.
