Fish Add Cook to the Bullpen

WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of right-handed pitcher Aaron Cook.

Cook, 27, appeared in four games for the Kansas City T-Bones this season and had a 7.50 ERA over six innings with five strikeouts. Last season, he went 4-2 with a 5.79 ERA in 43 games with the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

After spending parts of three seasons in the Los Angeles Angels system, Cook played two and a half seasons with the RailCats. In 80 games between 2008-2010, Cook had a 6-5 record and 4.62 ERA.

Drafted by the Angels in the 35th round of the 2006 MLB amateur draft, Cook reached Double-A Arkansas in the Texas League for eight games in 2008. He had his best season in 2007 when he sported a 1.72 ERA and six saves in 34 games between Single-A Cedar Rapids of the Midwest League and Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga of the California League.

The Goldeyes have 22 players on their roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.
