WINNIPEG - The American Association announced today that Winnipeg Goldeyes pitcher Ace Walker has been named the Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week, for the week ending July 10.

Walker, 28, was 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA in posting huge wins over North Division rivals, the St. Paul Saints and Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. The product of Sparks, Okla. went eight innings on July 5 against St. Paul in a 7-3 win and pitched a complete game in yesterday's 7-2 win over the RedHawks.

On the season, Walker is 6-3 with a 3.47 ERA and he has won his last four starts.

This marks the second time this season a Goldeyes pitcher has claimed the award. Southpaw Luis Villarreal took home the honour back in June.

The Goldeyes begin a four-game, three-day series in St. Paul tonight against the Saints with a doubleheader, beginning at 6:05 p.m.

Great seats for all Goldeyes games are available by visiting any Ticketmaster location, clicking on Ticketmaster.ca or by calling 1-855-GOLDEYE.
