Boyer, Walker American Association Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC - Pointstreak, the official statistician of the American Association, has selected Gary SouthShore RailCats INF Brad Boyer and Winnipeg Goldeyes RHP Andrew Walker as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

Boyer batted .500 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in five games. The resident of Camarillo, CA scored five runs, collected 12 hits and walked two times. He also had an on-base percentage of .538 to go along with a 1.125 slugging percentage. This past Friday and Saturday against the St. Paul Saints, Boyer combined to go 7-for-10 with three home runs, four runs scored and eight RBIs. On the season, the 27-year-old is hitting .379 (sixth best in the American Association) with seven home runs and 40 runs driven in.

Walker collected two wins this past week, which included tossing a complete game against Fargo-Moorhead. The Prague, OK resident had an earned run average of 1.59 and an opponents batting average of .210. In 17 innings pitched, he allowed one walk and 13 hits while fanning 10 batters. Walker is 6-3 on the year with a 3.47 ERA in 80 1/3 innings pitched.
